Graphic Design Brief: Xtra Turn Brand Logo and Branding
Project Overview:
We are creating a fresh and dynamic brand identity for an online store specialising in Trading Card Games (TCGs), board games, and role-playing games (RPGs). The store is named Xtra Turn. The aim is to establish a unique and appealing visual identity that resonates with enthusiasts of TCGs, board games, and RPGs, while distinguishing the brand from other stores in the market.
Target Audience:
Enthusiasts and collectors of Trading Card Games, board games, and RPGs.
Primarily people aged 18-45, both male and female, with a mix of casual players and hardcore collectors.
Customers looking for a fun, interactive, and diverse gaming experience.
Brand Attributes:
Fun: Convey a sense of excitement and enjoyment.
Community: Appeal to the growing online gaming community.
Authenticity: Represent a trustworthy, high-quality store for enthusiasts.
Design Objectives:
Logo: Create a bold, memorable logo that works well in both small and large sizes (e.g., on website headers, social media icons, and print materials).
Branding: Establish a cohesive visual identity (colour palette, typography, imagery style) that can be applied across all platforms (website, social media, packaging, and advertising).
The logo should be adaptable to both digital and print formats, with a clean, modern feel.

Design Considerations:
Colour Palette:
Red: A strong, attention-grabbing colour, particularly associated with RPGs (e.g., Dungeons & Dragons) and competitive energy.
Black and White: To add sophistication and contrast. These colours should be used to complement red without overwhelming it. However, the balance should be carefully considered to avoid the appearance of being too generic.
Avoid blue and yellow as they are often overused in similar markets, especially with reference to Pokémon and other popular TCG brands.
Explore using deeper tones or variations of red to add a unique twist, and consider a highlight or accent colour that complements the main palette.
Typography:
Modern, easy-to-read typefaces that are versatile across digital and print media. The font should convey a sense of playfulness while maintaining readability and professionalism.
Iconography:
The logo should incorporate elements that represent TCGs, board games, and RPGs. This could include abstract shapes, symbols, or minimalistic representations of dice, cards, or board game pieces.
Ensure the logo can function both with and without an icon, depending on use cases.
Deliverables:
Logo Design: Primary and secondary logos in vector format (AI, EPS, SVG) and raster format (PNG, JPG).
Brand Style Guide: Detailing colour palette, typography, and usage guidelines for consistency across all media.
Social Media Kit: Profile and cover images, post templates, and banners optimised for social platforms.
Website Design Considerations: Colour palette and font choices that will work well for online shopping experiences, keeping accessibility and user experience in mind.
